Bring your skills and help shape the future of the Bragg Creek Community Centre

We’re on the lookout for a few community members to join our volunteer board. We’re not fancy. We’re not political. We’re just people who care about making our community vibrant, connected, and sustainable – and we need a few more brains and hearts around the table to make it happen.

We meet once a month, spend some additional hours working together on projects that improve services to our community, and have a few laughs.

Check out the spots we’re hoping to fill:

  •  A Director with Business Sense

You’ve run a business, or been close to one. You get how to keep things running sustainably (budgets, planning, getting stuff done) while staying true to the community vibe. You’re not afraid to ask, “Is this helping us meet our mission?” and “Could this be more efficient?” You’re a strategic thinker, but not above rolling up your sleeves.

  •  A Director with a Sustainability Mindset

You care about the environment and want to help us walk the talk. We’re looking at solar panels, eco-upgrades, and funding options to make our centre greener. You’d help lead that charge — researching, grant-hunting, and dreaming big (but practical). Experience in sustainability, energy, or just a passion to figure it out is all welcome.

  • A Director who loves planning Community Events & Festivals

You love bringing people together and know how to pull off a community dance, a movie night, an info night, or something brand new. You’d help plan and coordinate a few events a year that are fun, welcoming, and ideally raise a few bucks for the centre. You don’t need to do it all yourself – we work as a team – but you’d lead the party planning!

  •  Assistant Treasurer

We need someone who knows their way around a spreadsheet. Maybe you’re an accountant, financial advisor, or just someone with a good head for numbers. You’d help keep us in the black, support the treasurer, and give advice on financial decisions for projects and events. We’re not a high-stakes operation, but we do take being responsible with community funds seriously.

  • Secretary

You’re great at keeping people informed and on track. Taking meeting minutes, sending out meeting reminders, uploading documents to Sharepoint, and keeping a passionate group of people on time when we get carried away on a particular topic. No experience needed – we can teach all the logistics – we just want someone willing to learn this important role!

  • Vice President

You have the skills and interest to help oversee the association’s goals and direction. Maybe you have a passion for HR, maybe you like leading presentations for funders, or maybe you just want to step up and learn more about the community and its stakeholders. All angles are welcome here, as long as you’re willing to bring a positive, solutions-oriented mindset.

Sound Like You (or Someone You Know)?

We’re kind. We’re casual. We’re all about community over ego. If you’re interested or curious, let’s chat!  Send us an email or come to our next board meeting and see what it’s all about.
