The Bragg Creek Community Association is looking for a new General Manager to join our small but awesome team. Reporting to a volunteer Board of Directors, the General Manager is the pivotal role to ensuring our community centre operates effectively and meets the needs of our community and community partners.

BOOKKEEPER

The Bragg Creek Community Association is looking to hire a bookkeeper. This is a contract role paid hourly and supports the Community Association’s finances. Working with a volunteer board of directors and permanent Association employees, this role is an important role for the Association. 

The contract bookkeeper will be responsible for the following:

  • Collecting mail and preparing bank deposits
  • Preparing monthly bank reconciliations for all bank accounts
  • Printing the monthly financial statements including balance sheets, income statements, accounts receivable and payables and details from the general ledger as required.
  • Preparing the treasurers report in Excel.
  • Preparing cheques for approved bills and recording those bills plus presenting the cheques for signature from the Board representatives, then sending out the cheques.
  • Entering invoices produced by office administration, record payments, assist in collecting any unpaid invoices.
  • Entering and reconciling MasterCard statements and petty cash as applicable.
  • File all GST returns, Annual Corporate returns, Charitable Society and Casino reports on time and accurately. 
  • Processing biweekly payroll with Ceridian payroll services for employees.
  • Reviewing government correspondence and ensuring appropriate action is taken.
  • Communicate effectively with volunteer board and Association staff as needed to answer financial questions. 
  • Produce and prepare working paper information to the accountants for the audit and ensure an efficient overall audit process for the Association. 

This role is ideal for someone within the Bragg Creek area, who has experience as a general bookkeeper in a non-profit organization. The position requires approximately 30-35 hours per month of time and experience with Simply Accounting software.
